Intro

Edward Gough whitlam was born11 of july 1916. He was the 21st Prime minister and gainded powerin 1974. He is the only prime minister to be dismissed by the governer general which happened in 1975. He entered parliment 1952and in 1960 he was the duputy prime minister for the A.L.P (Australian Labour Party). Once he was prime minister he started alot of new programs such as elimination of military conscription and criminal execution. The opposition used the governments scandals to beat them causing the governor general to dismiss him as Prime Minister. Whitlam resigned as lader of the ALP in 1977 and left parliment in 1983.
